This children’s book (or book for the young at heart) introduces the reader to the standard members of the concert flute family including the piccolo, flute, alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute, as well as some world flutes including the Irish flute and whistle, shakuhachi, dizi, panpipe, and ocarina.
This book includes recordings of all the flutes being played as well as a digital version of the book with recordings right inside the pages, including the grand finale showcase performance of all the concert flutes being played together. I got your book this week and I read it to my 8 year old pennywhistle student along with her 9 year old sister who plays piano. It took us the entire 30 minutes of our lesson (so thanks for giving me a new lesson plan) as she read a page, I read a page and then we would listen to each flute family instrument. She loved it when we got to the pennywhistle page 😍 I loved her enthusiasm for her instrument. I also let her hold my concert flute. I told her that she is almost big enough to play the concert flute and we will start learning it this fall. Erika, you did such a great job with the book and music. What a wonderful combination and wonderful experience for students. It is nice to inspire kids, and this was very inspiring!!!!
