Are you ready to enter the 21st century and take your flute into the virtual world? There are MANY possibilities to collaborate with other musicians, study, and make music that you can enjoy without ever leaving the comfort of your own home! However, figuring out how to get started might feel a bit overwhelming. But don’t worry, with today’s technology it can be very easy!
This free mini course, a collaboration with the online music teaching platform, Lessonface, will walk you through technology requirements and how to set everything up so that your first virtual flute endeavor is successful.
There are three sections to this course:
-In section one, you will learn about the basic technology you will need to get started as well as possible upgrades to consider depending on your needs and desires.
-Next, in section two, you will learn how to properly configure the audio settings on one of the most popular video conferencing platforms, Zoom, in order to best collaborate live with musicians or teachers, with a brief mention of other possible platforms out there.
-Lastly, in the third section, you will learn how to play ensemble music virtually, both live and with recordings.
This course also has a way for you to digitally take, save, and download notes as you go through the material!
If you complete the course, you will get a certificate as well as a badge and points to apply to future courses or classes! Completing the final quiz will also earn you a badge and points.
Best of all, being enrolled in this course allows you access to the Skye Flute Music community hosted directly on this site. Ask all your flute questions and join in on the conversation!
