Your flute can be made out of many materials including silver, gold, platinum, and wood among others, and different parts of the flute can be made out of different materials. So many possible combinations!
At the end of the video, you will be able to compare the sound of five different flutes playing “Skye Boat Song”, ones made out of plastic, silver-plated nickel, solid silver, solid silver body with gold and silver fusion headjoint, and wood. This is just to give you a general idea of the effect on sound that material has on an instrument, so please note that since these are five completely different instruments, there are also many other factors that can affect sound too such as embouchure hole cut or pad type.
